X5 35d
Guys,
What year do you recommend for a X5 35d. there was a change between the twin turbo and twin power turbo's and 6 and 8 speed autos. I an looking for a low mileage one and wondered which year was the better years. Any sites discuss this? Thanks, |

The 2014 BMW redisigned the x5, and added the n57 single turbo engine and 8spd auto, for an epa hwy 31mpg. For me I'd go with the 2014 or newer for looks and better fuel economy. The older twin turbo will be a little less laggy. However the simpler design of a single turbo and the better transmission and interior win me over. The M57 is the same engine as our 335d except with a high and low pressure EGR. The N57 is rated less but I would take that as the single turbo variable vane is much less complicated than our setup but also it probably does better in terms of carbon build up and those other nuisances.

We have a 2010 E70 X535d that is solid as a rock at 130k miles. Many players to choose from in performance parts/upgrades also. The F15's are more refined and also more money, don't believe there is much available in mods yet.

I just had the f 15 for 4 months for airbag recall on the X5d e70, the e70 is just solid as rock, f 15 is comfy nimble but NOT a $60k bmw .. The electric steering has no feedback whatsoever, the Service advisor said bmw trying to be lexus and lexus trying to be bmw lol
