Speed Busters?

Disclaimer: I'm passing this along. I've never heard of this company and their name is horrible.
I also wonder if 426hp/ 457ft-lbs for a $900 chip is too good to be true.

I think '96 was the last year you could actually use a chip in a BMW.

And they have been around for sometime.

Say connects to three sensors in the engine bay. Probably the same sensors jb4 connects to.

As you may know many auto manufacturers used to use chips themselves for fuel maps, including BMW and they were just EPROMs. That's where it came from. I had one in my '93 RX7 R1 and one in my '95 Dinan 540i. Now it means, what? Any device besides a flash?

I have used Chiptuning boxes myself in the past with very satisfying results and would prefer one over an engine remap because of the fact that you can turn them on/off at any time you want to and also because they are (to the best of my knowledge) undetectable by the ECU as they simply fool the relevant input/output values, not voiding warranty.

Might give this some consideration,it seems nice and simple and I don't need all the permutations that the JB4 is capable of.

Mr 9L,

Now you're REALLY going to like this being a Brit

www.tmcmotorsport.com are agents in the UK for Speedbuster although it is not publicised and they sell the same boxes with different label(Same Phone APP Integration, etc) but at must more competitive rates.

Their site doesn't list an M2 unit yet, but only a matter of time. My wife has had a Tmc box on her Audi A1 for the last 5 years gives her an extra 32bhp never an issue and never an engine check light. Zero Issues at service time, we just take it off.

I have know TMC for a while and know people that installed them on Alfas and Minis. They are definitely recommendable and it is nice to see that the 228i goes from 245 bhp to a claimed figure of 305 bhp because usually what they claim comes close to reality. I have at the present a Magneti Marelli box on an Alfa MiTo QV which took it from 170 to 200bhp with very nice torque and power curves, corresponding (within noise) to their claimed values.

Excellent info,thanks

I shall be keeping my eyes peeled on this one and like you say it has local representation.I'll probably be on the phone in the next few weeks to get the low down.

I wonder if anybody else is going to bite the bullet on this one...

$900 is way too much for what its doing (tricking)

My local tuner Enzo Performance will be doing Unlocks for proTUNING Freaks BM3 which you will find is the best tuning for the particular complex M2 engine
