Angel Eye Upgrade
I did a search but couldn't find anything specific on this. Has anyone upgraded their angel eyes? Meaning, OE BMW Angel Eyes Upgrade(6500K Bright White LED). I have been happy with üm•nitza in the past maybe I'll give them a call. Just wanted to know if anyone has done this upgrade.
PS. How about getting quad halos working on our cars?

There is no known upgrade to our angel eyes, I've done extensive research into the subject and found nothing. As of right now, no one has an OE upgrade for our car. And no quad angel eye option is possible. The only way to do it would be to cut your headlight lens from your headlight assembly. Wire in custom CCFL angel eyes and seal it back together as some guy did on Z4-Forum.

You are right, I made a couple calls and it sounds like the only thing illuminating the inner rings is the reflection off the low beams(no specific bulb or light source). That really sux! I mean you can barely even see them at night let alone daytime.

I know. I saw an older 740 recently with bright dual rings and they looked sweet. I wish there was an easier way to do it

///Metak: That is FALSE the inner rings are illuminated by a 12v 10w BA9S Bayonet bulb. It sits inside the mock projector behind the ring and illuminates it. Technically you can change this to a brighter bulb etc, but no one has done it yet. The outer rings are the ones that are "glowing" because of the low beam.

I tried the 5-LED radial LED option it just wasn't that much brighter at all. If you wanted something as bright as the new bmws or even the old ones. You'd need some high powered LEDs which would require some high powered cooling as those get really hot. I looked into it, and even planned out the 70$ worth of parts I'd need but never got into it.

Good read, I definitely would've went with CCFL angel eyes (6,000K) and chrome/amber blinkers if I tore apart the headlights like that but to each their own. I remember reading that thread awhile back about the smashing of the amber shields for the blinkers. Glad to see I didn't spend the 200$ for Angel iBrights. Knew it was shady when there wasn't a single picture or information up from them about it. Not sure how safe a 21W bulb in place of a 10W bulb is but if it doesn't melt the housing I might have to give it a shot with a higher wattage blue glass bulbed to produce a "whiter" ring.

I might be up for trying that too. I would definately prefer a LED conversion bulb kit. The inner halos definately look nicer with that 21W bulb in those pics.

Ya they look MUCH brighter; but at the sacrifice of color. As you can see in the shots the inner ring has a blueish tint to it. This is to make the final output closer to "xenon white" as possible. With the higher output the halogen will overpower the blue tint. However,it should still end up like the E90/E92 halos which have the yellowish tint to them. The LED option is doable just much more complicated but the end result would be amazing.

The stock halogen bulb is very bright, brighter then any standard LED or cluster of LEDs. You'd need 4+ high powered LEDs to be brighter then the factory bulb. From the looks of it that bulb wont cut it, it looks like a generic single LED. If it was a high powered LED it would need much more cooling which is non-existent from the picture.

One more thing. As per REALOEM.com the OEM bulb is only 5W. The replacement bulb above is 10W.

The bulb is DEFINITELY a 12v 10w bulb. I've seen it personally, the 5w bulb is probably the blinker bulbs. A 10w replacement would be pointless, the link above they used a 20w bulb which doubled the light output. But, no idea if it did any damage.
