Thermal expansion causing door lockers to work intermittently?

Hey guys,

So I noticed that my drivers door lock works intermittently as the temperature goes up throughout the day. During the early morning and night, my lock works 95% of the time, but mid-day it only works about 30% of the time and I'm forced to roll my windows down and stick my arm in and unlock it.

Anyone have any ideas on what could potentially be causing this?
