19 inch tires for 335i (2007)
Hi, this is my first BMW.
It came with 19 inch BMW Performance rims and Bridgestone Potenza RFT tires Front 225/35/19 Rear 255/30/19 When the time came to equip with new tires I decided to go with Continental Extreme Contact DW, which is a NON RFT partially because I read many many treads and posts that say that RFT are no good. I bought the same size as the above. See attached files with the rim, the old and the new tire. When I installed the new tires, I notices that they are probably not as wide (despite the same size) and the tires do not cover the rim edge. I am now concerned that if I hit a pot whole, I may damage, the tire, the rim or both. Should I go with bigger tires perhaps because I switched from RFT to NON RFT? What is your take on this? My question is mostly about the size of the tires on 19 inch rims... which size should I use for non RFT tires? Thank you for your answers! |
