E92 Sport to Non-Sport Conversion?
Sounds strange doesn't it? All of the posts I've seen are questions about going from non-sport to sport, not the other way around. For those who will ask, the car already has newer Michelin PSS, Koni FSDs, new shock/strut towers, and some worn bushings replaced. I'm giving the car to a family member who would like it smoother (like my wife's F30 in comfort). I thought a cheap fix would be non-sport springs with the same numerical code, i.e D5/D4 to C5/C4. Anyone try this that resulted in a softer, more compliant ride. Thoughts?

Goodyear Eagle Sport staggered 18" tires rode favorably as compared to the F30. Smooth, quiet, and well controlled. I don't know if non sport springs will get you where you want to be as ride quality is concerned. It might be cheaper and easier to put a more co fort oriented tire on the car. Eagle sports we're smooth and quiet. BFG Comp Sport 2 All seasons ride really well too. These are $600 tires that handle and ride fantastically. They will, however be less responsive than your current PSS. But that may not be an issue when you are ride biased. What psi are the PSS running? You might find a bit of smoothness hidden there. |
