Odd sound when breaking

If I stop quick enough often times I hear a squeakish sound coming from the front of the car. My WebMD paranoid mind is thinking it almost sounds like a belt or something that isn't rotating quite correctly. Anyone ever experienced this before/know what it might be? It only last a second or two before going away. It's separate from the actual break squeak too so I know it isn't that.
