M235 Grill for M2

Probably a dumb question...i know we can use the 235 surrounds for the m2 but i would like to know if there is any difference whatsoever between the complete m235 grille (including surrounds) and the M2's (aside from the missing 'M2" emblem)...?

Ive searched but only found reference to the surrounds. If the surrounds fit, i know it would be fine but wonder about any design difference since on realoem it shows two different part numbers for the m2 and M235...

Thanks!

Yes, M2 has double slats, M325i has single slats.

Actually all M cars have double slats, to differentiate themselves.

too funny...i was looking at images of both but i totally missed that! i was more concerned with the 'flow/shape' of them that i completely overlooked that! My wife is right...i am blind. Never fails..when i cant find something in the fridge, she goes and looks and its right there, front row centre!

oh well, too bad because i saw a decent private deal on a cf one...thanks!

Is the whole thing CF? You could always just use the CF surrounds, I think F87queen has a set like that from IND.

actually, on closer inspection, it is just the surround that is cf. But it also has the double slats...just no M2 emblem. On the IND site, i only see the full grill (cf surround and gloss black slats) for $499.

I'm not sure how easy the emblem is to remove, or even if you can. Either way, you can swap out the surrounds and still come out ahead price-wise.

Or put limo tint film over it.

No. I had it done with some other stuff. Windows, mirror light strips, xpel, etc.

Ya I need to start looking for a good xpel installer in my area...don't want to drive too much without the protection.
I might be thinking of someone else on here but was it you that went dark (limo dark) on the window tint? Any (law) issues?

No, I did 18% ceramic on windows. Still darker than legal, but no issues with the law. FL is pretty lenient about that.

Limo tint is 20% so 18% is actually 2% darker, but like you said almost a necessity in southern states. Not like up north where everyone is too uptight about stuff like that.

I made a Special order with this Dabozo but if you contact IND they will work with you on the price. Asked them if they could just send you the carbon fiber surrounds.

I believe Limo tint is 5%. I had 20% on my last car and it was no where near as dark as limo tint. I'll be going 20% again on my m2.

Did a quick search and seems some agree w/you. That said I cannot imagine a tint that dark you may as well paint the windows black!

I had 20% on a previous car and liked it even at night shame the cops didn't agree w/me.

ya 20% is as low as i would go...here in ontario, there is really no set law on tint %...its basically left up to the officer's discretion. Ive never been harassed over it but i would imagine if i got pulled over for whatever and started giving attitude, they would probably make it an issue just because...

I was going to try ordering the M235i grill, pop out the middle and insert the stock middle. I heard that's what the f80 people did.

Here in NB any non-factory tint is illegal and they'll ticket you at a moments notice - easy money.
