335 Front Struts/Shock replacement time?
A few weeks ago my rear passenger shock began leaking. I knew by the leak it was time to replace the shock/strut. Since I was replacing the rear passenger shock I also decided to do the drivers rear. Upon removing the drivers rear I discovered the shock was no longer returning to its extended position.
Now Im concerned with my front shocks. Is there a test I can do to see if its time to replace them? |

What's the mileage on the car? My guess is that they won't last much longer. If your doing one might as well do all 4.

100k is a good rule of thumb, but it all depends on use. If one is toast, replace them all.

Your at least $400.00 for all 4 of them. Look into the Bilstein B4 Kit. FCP Euro will give you a lifetime warranty on them. At 59k, your surrounding hardware should still be good.
If your looking for a sportier ride, the B4 comes in a sport version or move up to a B8. The B12 lowering kit, at around $850, is probably the best suspension for the money that gives you an M3 quality suspension less minus the subframe bushings and control arms of course. |
