N55 Charge Pipes

Expecting Cobb to release the update to support my ROM any day now so I think its time to finally pull the trigger on a CP.

My first instinct was to just get a $195 COBB CP but have read a lot about N54 Cobb CP's having fitment issues. Any experience??

What about VRSF? It is the cheapest from what I've seen.

The ER one looks fine its obviously just the priciest one of the bunch.

I'm looking for easy install and just a solid/stronger replacement pipe. I do not want meth bungs or anything like that. Just one that installs easily and wont crack under increased boost.

People complaining about fitment issues either probably are several years old or were trying to force the pipe on from a bad angle. Pivot the lip of the charge pipe over the throttle body from below not above.

The other thing I noticed is that the gasket has to be in the correct groove (inside of the charge pipe) or you'll never be able to get it to attach.

Map performance makes an adonized black Charge pipe for $195 (amazon). It includes a new gaskets and c-clip! It also includes a silicone coupler to connect the charge pipe to the intercooler. Some pipes are straight aluminum which is bad imo. The stock pipe has a corrugated section to mitigate the effect of engine movement on the connection. The silicone coupler helps imitate that same flexibility.

GET VRSF charge pipe, it has better fitment than Cobb

Nothing but problems with Cobb fitment as Mike said VRSF is priced better and it fits better. No brainer for an inexpensive CP. It's the most popular CP next to the ER.

Just had the VRSF charge pipe put on my car. Nice looking piece and no fitment issues. I have their 5" stepped intercooler with lower charge pipe as well. That took a little more figuring, mostly with realizing that the factory accordion-looking turbo outlet needs to be removed entirely. But it's also a quality piece.

Unfortunately no, I happened to be at my mechanic's for a different reason when they were lining up the the charge pipe and intercooler next to the stock pieces, to make sure they knew how to orient the pipes and couplers before installing in the car. Since the VRSF pieces don't come with instructions, it was a quick "oh hey let's figure out how these pipes line up," and I didn't think to take pictures.
