Improving Ride Quality on a F30 328i

Starting to really dislike the feel of every bump on the road and my jaws locking. Car is a stock suspension M Sport 328i that gets driven as a daily driver. The car sees mostly city and highway driving (Sydney/AUS - our roads are terrible).

I'm looking for a setup that will be as comfortable as possible and pretty much cushion everything. Sometimes when it's late at night and the roads are clear I have a bit of fun around corners and straights, so it'd be a nice plus if handling could improve overall.

Was wondering what options I could go for to cater to what I want. I've been recommended KW V2/ST XA Coilovers, and was told it will improve handling but only possibly match/improve the current comfort level. Another friend recommended a progressive springs/shock upgrade but he's got a Mustang and I wouldn't know where to start for a 328i application.

The car is currently running 403m RFTs which I plan to swap out to the 437m with Michelin Super Sports later on.

Thanks for the help!

Getting rid of the RFTs might be enough. Think about doing that first and see if the ride is not more to your liking. Whatever you decide to do with suspension, getting rid of the runflats is going to be a priority anyway. Do it first and maybe you won't need to spend anymore money.....for now

18" wheels and non RFT. Go for the style M400 wheels.

Reading the original post, it looks like you prefer to retain 19" wheels and even move to M437 wheels. Higher sidewall (18" wheels - M400 is a great choice) and non RFT tires will give the most noticeable improvement. Individually adjustable coilovers - rebound and compression - is the next step but at a higher cost. However, if you prefer to retain OEM suspension height, most coilovers will lower the vehicle.

As has been suggested, ditching the 19" RFTs for 18" non-RFTs will make for a huge improvement in ride quality (and improve performance too). The stock suspension (even M Sport) is considered by many to be fairly soft, so most coil over kits will improve handling - but at the same time, firm-up the ride at least some. You might check out the KW Street Comfort coil over kit though... I've read that it can be set up to be very compliant - probably more comfortable than stock.

KW Street Comfort coilovers - as suggested - are worth considering. The vehicle will be lowered slightly. I don't recommend investing in springs and shocks separately. Mismatched springs and shocks will cause more unwanted suspension behavior issues, not to mention higher eventual labor costs.

Agreed - even though the op is looking at another 19". And RFT are harsh

RFT is one.

Dampers are the other. There is way too much compression damping on OEM BMW dampers and not nearly enough on the rebound side.
