M2 rims & offset

I understand that the rims on the M2 are identical to the rims on the M3 & M4. I wish to swap out the black rims on the M2 for the silver/grey ones of the M3/4. Will I have any problem with this? My dealer is telling me that the offset on the M2 is 23 front & 40 rear, whereas the M4 is 15 front and 22 rear. Does this matter?

yes it matters, if those ET numbers are correct. This is the measurement to the mounting surface of the wheel to the hub and its relation to the center line of the wheel.

The dealer is wrong on the offsets. The M2, M3 and M4 offsets (and wheels) are identical. Front is ET29 and rear is ET40.

So, you can absolutely swap the wheels.

Tell the dealer to get their facts straight

Does anyone have the parts number for the M2 rims in black? If the parts number is identical to the M4 rims in black then the dealer can not tell me they wont fit.

There are about five threads on the forum that confirm they are the same. How do I know? I was like the fourth person to ask.

Magically the same

Tires are 10mm narrower on the M2 however...

Thanks everyone. Now if I can just get my dealer to agree. It's been frustrating, as I seem to know more than them.

Apparently no silver 437M rims in Canada right now. I have agreed to have the black rims refinished to the silver rims. I hope they turn out ok. It takes about a week to refinish them. They will be covered under the BMW warrantee if they don't hold up. I really prefer the silver rims as the black are very black after dark and combined with brake dust.
