Leaking oil at just under 4k miles...
Well two days ago I noticed a burnt oil smell after going up a hill. I doubted it was my car. Today I smelt it again and was more than sure it was from me. Well popped the hood and saw it was leaking...Excuse the Sh*tty picture. Will take a better one in the morning.

Theyre replacing the gasket according to the service advisor.
EDIT (if anyone is interested since this thread is on fire): Turned out to be the "HIGH PRESSURE FUEL GASKET" which is kinda weird. Fuel gasket? really? lol but its oil Last edited by StepAsideButch; 09-08-2016 at 02:35 AM.. |

My 2014 435i (46K miles) just went in for service and service advisor alerted me to an oil leak before I saw any evidence. The leak came from the full-flow filter body (aka, oil filter housing) and fixed under warranty. Per my advisor, this is becoming more common now that they are starting to see high-mileage. They also noticed "cold-climate" vehicles develop this issue at a higher mileage than "hot-climate" vehicles.
