MPE Exhaust Clamp Alternative?

Does anyone know if there is an cheaper alternative to the OEM BMW MPE exhaust clamp? I know its an 80mm pipe (3 1/8"), but I cannot seem to find one...can only find 3" exhaust sleeve clamps.

Would this work? https://www.amazon.com/Torca-Exhaust...t+sleeve+clamp

I couldn't ever find one when I was swapping mufflers in my f30 lease. I threw on the cheap walker one lol and crimped it best I could. Didn't look pretty but it worked. I wouldn't do it if it were my car long term.

Clamp

It would be interesting to see what clamps companies like fabspeed send out with their muffler deletes/exhausts. I have wondered the exact same thing. I almost bought an MPE without a clamp and didn't go thought with it because the clamp was 90 bucks.
I am actually in the process of trying out different clamps for a muffler delete, I will let you know whether 3inch or 3 1/4 inch clamps work. In my opinion welding a flange and some bolts would be the best choice. That is how my delete will be attached, but I want to make some to sell so I will be trying different sleeves/clamps.

I wonder as well. But seeing how Fabspeed engineers there products I'm sure they use a nice quality clamp.

In my experience with the walker aka (advance auto/autozone special) and that OTHER summit brand Torca or whatever the BMW clamp has by far been the best one I've ever seen, used period.

I agree also one can take an 82mm 5 or 6 " stainless pipe and use that with some saddle clamps and it'll do the job just fine.

When I measured the oem 335i muffler it was right around 81.2mm from outside diameter. So one would have to have something that can fit snug. But for future use I got this to adjust the pipe to needed specs because I too won't spend 90-100 dollars on a darn clamp. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/3616804...&ul_noapp=true

I bought one and it doesnt fit at all! How were you able to tighten it? I unscrewed the whole thing so it could get big enough to fit over the pipe, but then the screws weren't long enough for me to catch with the nut so I wasn't able to fit it.

Any suggestions?

We use a 80mm TORCA clamp that is expanded to 3" to fit our Muffler Bypass Exhaust. I hope this helps!

Fabspeed, it seems the Torca Couplers come in 3"/76mm.. Do you mean, you expand them to 80mm?

How are you expanding them wider?

Sorry for the confusion. You are correct. They are 3" and we are expanding them to 80mm. We are using a regular pipe expanding machine.
