Same week as mine. We might even be on the same boat unless the midlands dealers have cars delivered through Southampton.

I have 10 cars ahead of mine to be built. Hoping mine is "born" next week!

Sounds great - I think EB still is the best suited colour to the Tourer.

No change in delivery, but now know build will start next week.

Is it realistic to expect a delivery (to the dealer) 3 weeks from the start of the build ? Whats the typical average ?

Thats, ordered week 31, built week 36, and delivered week 38.

Pretty impressive when you think about it how quick they can build a car.

Indeed it is, especially when you consider that the factory closes for 2 weeks in August!

Just spoke to Genius ..

So as of 23rd Sept, my car was status 5055 with a delivery expected w/c 17th Oct
As of today - the car is 9000 (Departed Plant), with production w/c Sept 26th), but now with an expected delivery w/c 10th October.

Spot the obvious mistake.

So it appears that Genius updates might not be worth the screen they are printed on ?

Maybe because it's early, in combination with a mid-week lull, but I'm not seeing a mistake anywhere...

If you're status 9000 now then it's entirely feasible you're car will be at the dealers w/c 10th October.

I just could'nt see how "Departed plant" could be the current status, when the car was scheduled to be built the same week.

Spoke to Genius again, and they're definitely saying the car is 9000 - and should be with the dealer w/c 10th October (which is my b/day ;o) )

So taken with a pinch of salt, but if they keep saying the same thing .. who am I to argue. I can get rid of this Golf GTi !!!

Yes that's right. Mine car went to 5200 Paintshop Start on a Tuesday, through 5500 Assembly Complete on a Thursday to 9000 Departed from Plant the same day (Thursday).

So 2 days from Paintshop start to out the factory.

EDIT: I reckon there's a good chance you'll catch Sunday's boat out of Cuxhaven along with Deans894 and JOHNBMWM5

Mines on a boat, and will in docking in Immingham this time tomorrow. It's made cracking progress over the last few days. Get back on to Genuis and check status - you never know...
