Ongoing issues almost out of warranty
All
Below are three ongoing issues. I had them fixed and now they are back plus a new one! -Steering wheel makes noises when turning. They said they lubricated it but in two months it was back. Almost a leather rubbing noise. -rattles by the center speaker. They said they found a loose speaker but it still happens intermittently. New one! -a metal rattling from my left exhaust. Only time I don't hear it is under moderate to heavy acceleration. My warranty is up at the end of the month but I still have 3 years of cpo. Would they extend the warranty on these issues? Should I buy an extended warranty. I am also considering just cutting ties. I've had a hud replaced and a sunroof fixed as well already so I'm nervous. What can I negotiate? |

My 2013 BMW 335i xDrive sedan developed several interior rattles. The dealer addressed all rattles except one, despite several attempts.
My daily driver is now 2017 BMW 440i Gran Coupe. After one week of ownership and while it's early to make any conclusions, no rattles of any kind. The rattle from left exhaust should be easily addressed if it can be consistently duplicated. |

Extended warranty typically won't cover rattles.
My previous 335 made exhaust buzzing noises occasionally, especially on cold start. I didn't let it bother me knowing that the dealer taking things apart could likely fix one thing and break two more. The only rattle I had dealer address was the a/c weight/clamp to stop one of the lines going to the evaporator from causing a rattle/buzz behind dash. There's a bulletin for that one, if you have a pre Dec 2013 build 335.
