Question about square setup 19" wheel
The fronts are 19 X 8.5 with 30 offset
The rears are 19 X 9.5 with 42 offset I currently have staggered setup, but I'm thinking of switching to 255/35/19 square setup. Will this work? Thanks |

I was thinking of this setup as well and posted a thread about it, but got no replies. I was hoping for some pics and opinions but seems like no one is running it. In my case I would be running same size wheels (19x8.5) so the rears wouldn't look stretched.

I spoke to a person from HRE, and he told me 255s would be too wide, so the square setup would not work.

There are some folks running 255/40/18 so 255/35/19 would theoretically be the same width and circumference. It would depend on the wheel offsets whether you get any fender rubbing or strut clearance issues for the fronts. The rears would definitely not be an issue.

I just put on a square set of 19x8.5 ET35 with 245/40/19 PSSs and I really like it. It's the ideal setup for me. Reduced under steer, square to the fender wells and no stretched tires. I personally don't understand why so many people get wider wheels and then stretch stock tire sized over them.

Will 255 square work? yes... however it will look odd. 255 will bulge slightly on 8.5" and stretch slightly on 9.5". if it were reversed (bulged on the rear and stretched on the front) it'd be more aesthetically acceptable.

It will work fine and will also look fine. I've been running square 19x8.5 ET35 with 255/35/19's for a couple years now with no issues. I'm lowered on H&R as well. Do it. You won't regret it.

Nice! No problems with rubbing in the fronts right? Do you have more pics at different angles? I was thinking of the same setup and adding a 10mm spacer in the rear to get it even more flush.

No rubbing at all. I don't have too many good pics on my phone currently and the car is at the dealer for service. Here's a couple I zoomed in. I can get a couple more when I get the car back.

Yes, they are M5 reps. Here are a few pics I took this morning. Hope these help. For reference the tires are Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06.
