Exclamation Resonator delete yes or no

Hi all, I have 2008 bmw 328xi e90 which I've done a muffler delete on. It sounds very nice but not loud enough for me anyways. I went to a muffler shop and they told me taking off my resonator would make my car sound like a honda civic lol. I'm just wondering has anyone done this set up: muffler and res delete and how did it sound and how is the drone? I'm looking for a deep tone not anything raspy or high pitched. Thanks!

The second cat delete I believe added a bit of raspyness on top end but the burbles are loud on deceleration

If anything ditch the secondary cats and leave the resonator.

my 335i has all 4 cats removed because they got blown out from leaking injectors but I had 2 vibrant resonators welded in because it was extremely raspy without them. It sounds great, 0 drone and nice and loud when I want it to be with pops and backfire. Best part is in 6th it sounds stock so I love it. If i was you i would follow their advice and keep the cats

The road to hell is paved with alterations to the exhaust to achieve a particular sound. Maybe you'll get lucky. Maybe you won't. You won't know from what people post here. We're talking an N52 xi. Your exhaust is not the same as the guy with the N54 who thinks deleting everything and having straight pipes sounds great (one man's meat is another man's poison, there's no accounting for taste, etc.).

If you're hell bent, go ahead and do it, but be sure you don't mind spending the $$ to put it back to where it was if you don't like it.

just get a fart can exhaust tip while you're at it. Maybe some Type-R stickers too.

Everyone has their own preference and taste my friend. If you cannot offer a decent response, then your input is not needed. Have yourself a great day!

I'm assuming adding an aftermarket resonator really wouldnt do much? I'm thinking about removing the secondary cats and putting on a aftermarket resonator to dodge any drone

It might, but as I indicated, the problem is two-fold: whether drone or rasp is annoying is subjective, and different models react differently to the same type of exhaust modifications (and even different cars of the same model). You have a 328xi, I have a 335is. Swapping out secondary cats (which I don't believe you have in any event) for resonators did nothing to cure the rasp that putting in catless downpipes gave me. For other folks with just a regular 335i, it did.

If I had a 328xi and had some (well, a lot of) money to spend on improving the exhaust, I'd get the BMW Performance Exhaust kit and be done with it.
