APEC Brake Disks, any experience?

Anyone used Apec front brake disks for grooved / dimpled replacement for F30 370 x 30 Sport disks p/n 34106797603

370X30 DSK3106 2L , only £127 pair , with 2 year warranty, 24k miles, looks cheap?

Do they warp or corrode?

They're going to be crap. They're drilled and grooved so will be noisier, worse at braking (less surface area) and more prone to cracking. It's all very well having a 2 year warranty, but it's the last thing you want to fail, and it's a PITA having to swap them prematurely because they're cracked.

we all know the pros and cons of drilled disks, but they look so sexy....I don't really want to be a test pilot, so let me know if anyone has tried Apec?

So I asked the UK seller for pics, here's what he sent, looks like they don't have the aluminium hub, but apart from that look like the m performance ones:

Visually, they look fine, and you would expect a 30mm thick disk to be robust, but material quality, machining tolerance, surface treatment etc… are all unknowns. Read some positive feedback from a Focus ST owner, and some negative from another, but personally I would only use the disks with proven pad. So we need a test pilot?

You're right about the Alloy hub. My plain disks have and alloy centre. No sure I would like to lose the cooling advantage of that?

Well mine don't need changing for about 40k so it won't be me!

It's a shame EBC don't make discs for the M Sport brakes yet.
