Why so few springs for Convertible ??
Hi all,
I will soon buy a 440i convertible. I still don't know if i will go Xdrive or not. I hate the xdrive look without the M Suspension and even the M suspension is not really low enough for me. I was checking suspension otpion for both the Xdrive and the RWD but i see many possibilities you guys have on coupé or GC doesn't exist on convertible (example the Dinan which were really a nice solution to lower but keep nice quality ride). Is there any reason for this ? Second and last question, it seems even harder to use non OEM suspension if i take the Electronical Suspension ? (sorry don't know the name in English, i am speaking the adaptative suspension i think). Best spring to keep quality but still lower a bit ? thanks guys ! |

Because people don't typically buy the heavier convertible to be performance-orientated. I'm sure there are some that do, but not enough to justify the R&D from BMW's point of view to invest in more aggressive suspension and then not enough demand aftermarket for the same.
