So today I went to test fit my track pads for my 2016 340 (non m sport brakes) and well some good news and bad news. Good news any pad that will fit any of the 4 piston calipers Bmw offers will work. The pagid pads I picked were designed for the f80 m3. The bad the hawk rear pads that hawk said should work don' (designed for 328 rear), but I had some e92 335 rear pads laying around and they are the exact same pad.
1st photo is stock rear 2016 340 non m sport next to 2013-2016 328 hawk rear pads. 2nd photo is stock 2016 340 Non m sport brakes next to Pagid f80 m3 pads. 3rd photo is stock 2016 340 non m sport rear next to rear of 2008 335i rear pad. I hope this helps anyone looking for pad upgrades. |

So you used the E90 rear pad and it worked without issues?
Im in the same-ish boat, looking for a more aggressive compound and there isnt too many listed for F30 out yet. So if this is true, this opens up a lot of choices! -San |

Porterfield makes a good R4 compound for the rear for the standard caliper(single piston). |
