what gearbox will fit a 2008 320i e93 please

hi all I am in need of some help.
I just purchased a 2008 pre facelift 320i e93
I have owned it 4 weeks and then I lost 6th gear and 5th gears.
the following morning the car seems stuck in gear when the gearbox is in
neutral. I checked the oil level and found NO GEARBOX OIL AT ALL. so I fear the gearbox is
toast. what I need to know is what gearbox I can replace it with. I found loads of 320d gearboxes for sale but no 320i petrol gearboxes. any advice on what would fit would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

When you say you checked the level and there was no oil I take it you removed the drain plug and nothing came out so you then removed the top up plug and added around 1.4l of the correct oil before allowing the oil to overflow the fill plug hole a little before installed the plug again ?

yes I mean the gearbox was empty of oil completely. I added 1.4 ltrs of gearbox oil until the oil spilled out of the top filler hole. then tried engaging the gears so as to move the oil around the gearbox. but sadly in neutral it is in gear. it feels like neutral at the gearstick. then I select 1st or second and you can feel it engage. 5th and 6th have no feeling at all and reverse is loose to say the least. I would have just sent this box of for repair but gearbox specialists will want in excess of £700 to strip , repair and rebuild it so I decided to find another gearbox instead. I can find loads of 320d gearboxes but none for the petrol. I have learnt that the gearbox I need is also fitted to e90 e91 e92 e93 x1 120i 520i to name a few
