3M Crystalline and Huper Optik Ceramic

I have read way too much on this in the past 24 hours

In Summary:

3M & HO
- expensive
- heat rejection, great
- seen complaints about color with both
- seems very dependent on factory glass color

HO
- same as their architectural film, thicker and hard to shrink (latter should not apply to M2?)

Does anyone have experience with either? Opinions?

Based on what I know it seems that HO is the best you can get. Did you consider formula 1 which is llumars top of the line series?

Pay for Huper Optik, best ceramic tint you can get.

I recently took a look at some Huper Optik ceramic tints on a car and I don't like the color to it. It doesn't have that charcoal hue like other brands. It has more of a blue or maybe green hue to it. I prefer the darker hue. Perhaps I need to see more cars for better examples.

I got the Formula One. No complaints here.

I'm now leaning towards llumar ctx 15 instead of pinnacle 15. The specs are the same except that formula1 solar energy rejection is slightly higher. Also planning on getting the air 80 series on the windshield. I haven't seen pinnacle 15 in person yet but the llumar ctx 15 looks pretty nice. What % tint you get? Do you have a pic?

I did 30% in the front, 15% in the back. I'll try to post some pics later.

I'm unfamiliar with Air 80.

I'm unfamiliar with Air 80.
Air 80 is made by llumar and shared with formula1 as a windshield tint that is lightly tinted but yet block out heat. Some chance I may tint it darker but for the Air series 80 is the darkest it would go. I think it should be fine given the interior is dark and having 15 on all my windows will consequently make the the front look darker too.

I only have experience with 3M Chrystalline, it is highly effective at blocking heat and and I have had no issues with any of my cars with it so I had it put on my M2 also. I spoke with a Huper Optic rep at SEMA this week and they seem to have a great product also.

I was at SEMA yesterday asking a llumar rep where Huper Optik was and apparently they didn't have a section. Little bit disappointing but I'm planning on just getting llumar ctx 15 and air 80 for front windshield. My other option would be formula1 pinnacle 15.

I agree with this. I have it on my wife's Audi S5 and it works wonders on heat rejection. It is 40% but it is actaully darker than my 35% on my m3 and works better at keeping the car cool. Will be going with HO from here on out with all my future purchases.

They were there, I have some brochures from them, they pitched me on the idea of opening a shop in my area and having an exclusive area for their product. Not too surprised their competitor didn't want to tell you where they were.

It's weird because they all owned by EASTMAN and suntek and llumar were in the same section. I walked around and didn't see HUPER assuming they all were in the same area.
