I'll try and get a video up soon. It sounds better than an M3, in my opinion.

Yes it does. Sounds much better than an m3. Here is a video I made which I posted a few months back. Was still breaking her in at the time. Should do another video.

I don't think I could ever justify spending $3,300 on just the MPE.

You're Welcome.
That's not a bad price at all! Less than the Dinan axle back. I may spring for this.

Better than the M3? OK, if that makes you feel better about it...

I also happen to think it sounds better than the M3 in that is doesn't sound bad. It actually sounds rather good. The M3 exhaust is an abomination.

The performance exhaust I have seen on Ebay from BMW have ugly exhaust tips. They are not rolled and polished and rather a raw cut metal. Is there options for the tips?

Yes, I do believe it sounds much better than a current generation M3. I test drove several and they sound awful to me. Awful. Raspy and remind me of Honda after-market exhausts from the 90s.

My previous car was a 335is - and while I do love the MPE on my 340i, it doesn't compare to the 335is sound. The 335is is higher pitched and the sound would bounce off everything I passed. It was an aural pleasure to drive. I had people stop and comment on it numerous times. It sounded exotic even.

But yes, I do not agree with you - the M3 sounds like crap, especially compared to the 340 with MPE. Even a 340 with stock exhaust sounds better, IMO.

Here are a couple vids of my 335is for comparison. The best pass on the first video is at the 1 minute mark. I believe the first video was during break-in and the second was after break-in

You're referring to the power kit + exhaust.

Regular MPE sounds similar but a bit less racy
