Alpina & PPK

Can you have both installed/flashed at on the same car, Alpina & PPK?

Can you still have the jb4 with Alpina installed?

What's the best version on Alpina, I'm finding a bunch have B3, but there are newer versions available, why don't people have the newer versions?

yes, ppk and alpina are separate flashes you can run together. yes jb4 is a piggyback and has no effect on alpina (a flash). In regard to the best version of alpina, i dont know.

There is a lot of misinformation about Alpina and the flash versions.

I know our Coder uses the latest version that is correct for these vehicles.

PPK, Alpina and JB4 can all work together. They are in fact all separate from a coding / flashing and install process.

Will Alpina have any conflict with the N55 MHD coming soon? Is there a point in having Alpina and MHD? do they work together?

Alpina flashes the transmission. It will never conflict with engine tune.

Plenty of N54 folks including myself have Alpina and MHD.

I see no reason why it won't work together for the N55 going forward.

for the n54, MHD has a check box to click if you have the Alpina flash already installed. Note to self and all the others who ask for MHD to install the Alpina flash; MHD does not install it , just sets correct paramiters for it in their tune. I would guess that they will include that feature with the N55 software, but best to ask MHD amazing customer service and turn around time on questions

I have a custom map and don't even have the option to click the check box you are talking about. What I'm saying is, it's likely pretty moot.

The OP is more concerned with writing one over the other or having incompatibility issues (from what I understand), which won't be the case.

The checkbox for Aplina/MHD is just to "optimize". How much it does seems to be unknown as no ill affects have been found by not checking it.

Thanks Jeff you did my PPK. I messaged you about getting the latest Alpina Flashed. Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer my questions about the N55 Alpina!
