Looking to do a mid cycle oil change on the 428, inside the hood there is a sticker with 0w-20 labeled. Called the dealer and they informed either 5w30 or 0w30 is the recommended use. The car also came with a bottle of 0w30 in the trunk.
Wanted to know what is with the 0w20 label inside the hood and which one should i go with?

0w20 meets the new LL-14FE+ standards which improve fuel efficiency. 0w20 is recommended for the B58 engines as well, but most dealerships are still using 0w30 or 5w30. I got my first oil change done last month and they used 5w30 on my 2016 340i.

Per the owners manual for the 340i, 0w30 and 5w30 are acceptable alternates. You may want to check your owners manual.
