Hey guys my idrive is frozen on home menu screen even if i reset it with the volume knob technique.....i also tried disconnecting the battery for 3 hours but still nothing..

It just happened like that while driving.....my warranty is over and im freaking out a bit .

Pull the HDD and see if it starts up after doing so.

You'll be missing maps, etc. but if it works this way, you know what the issue is.

Remember to completely remove power from your car (disconnect battary) before you do this... and don't shut the trunk.

The HDD drive itself.

If that is the case there are a few things you could do.

ECSTuning has them.

But you may be able to get one cheaper from a part-out or auto wrecker.

No problem and congrats!

- Your problem was not the iDrive, it was the controller instead, which is much easier and cheaper to deal with.

- You did a good job sticking with it and found the problem.

A big -WIN- in my book.
