I was looking at realoem.com at the BMW battery charger an noticed they have two different style battery comfort indicators...

Is the battery comfort indicator something you permanently attached to the battery and plug the charger into instead of using the charger's battery terminal clips?

Nope. The indicator is just that - an indicator. You permanently attach it to hard to reach batteries so you can see their charge level.

You'd still need to connect the conditioner to the battery (and don't forget to remove the indicator!).

I searched a bit more after posting. It is an indicator and plug. It appears it was designed to mount the indicator part where you can see it easily and if needed plug in the charger.

I like the cigarette lighter version or the square version for permanent mounting.
