Base stereo subs upgraded to Logic 7 subs

Guys- I had searched and read but have not found what I need. Here's the deal, I spilled two gallons of oil in my back seat from a leaking oil container, and it flooded my sub with oil. I have the base stereo with underseat subs.

I got the oil all cleaned up and have new carpet, and a buddy of mine gave me two of his logic 7 subs from when he upgraded his car.

But the logic 7 subs don't seem to fit in the stock enclosure.

Do they fit? Do I need a different enclosure? Can I just dremel some of the stock enclosure to make it fit? Anyone ever done this?

I had that setup.

Most probably you would have to use a spacer as is done with aftermarket subs. The problem with L7 subs is that the tab on the side will need to be accounted for in the spacer and i am not sure (one way or the other) if that will cause issues with most spacers generally available. Jtsherri is a former forum member and makes semi custom spacers and may be able to help you. His email address is the above name at gmail

Doubtful. The L7 amp puts out 70w. The HU puts out approx 12w. You risk not enough output. (No big deal) or cooking the HU internal amp (bigger deal). I cant remember the resistance on the base vs L7 woofers but its on this subforum. May be worth a look.

Hum.. ok. I might just snag one out of my wife's car and hope she doesn't notice. I only need one because I spilled oil all over mine.

My e90 came with base stereo system. I wonder if a L7 speakers upgrade will be a good idea...

Should be more than enough, many people suggest geting L7 as a starting point of an update.
