new TPMS sensors on winter wheels
Trying to get a definitive answer on TPMS for a new set of winter wheels.
Which sensors do I need to buy? And Will they just start working or do i need to code them (some companies offer this, but charge far more for the sensors). Seems that these will be pre-programmed Ebay_linky Far cheaper option....that claims to self learn Far_cleaper_linky Thanks!

Reviving this thread as I have same questions:
I'm looking into a winter tire/wheel package but I'm not used to the TPMS sensors being tied to the wheels. My current car detects the tire pressure through the ABS system I believe, so any wheels I put on are automatically detected. Are the TPMS sensors that come with the M2 easily transferred to any new wheel/tire package I buy? Or do i need to buy new sensors. I see tirerack.com offers that option. Any help would be appreciated. |

Tagging to this thread, I had my winters on last week without TPMS. Still don't have any warning lights. Is this because the system measures the difference between all 4 tires and since all of them are 0, therefore no warning light?

Little confused now. Can I not run a set of wheels without TPMS?
I'm trying to debate if I want my winter setup to have TPMS or not. I tend to check my tire pressure manually anyways. But will this throw an annoying warning light if I don't have the sensors? |

I'm also confused by this. I'd rather not buy sensors for tyres I will only use for 5 months of the year.
Starting to do my research now ahead of the end of the year. I don't like the 640m wheels, gathering other wheel options available. MJ Last edited by mjsaville; 07-01-2017 at 05:14 PM.. |
