Logic 7 power system

Hi.
Does the logic 7 amplifier apto turns off when no sound is coming from radio? Or needs to be connected to a key on power sorce? I'm asking that because I'm upgrading from alpine retrofit and could use power cable from battery has it is on alpine. Alpine shuts off when no sound coming from radio.

Because it uses the sound system for alarms . So even though you may turn the radio off it just means the display is inactive.
