I'm booking the car in to get the hifi system upgraded with the Bavsound Stage 2. I've received this note from the dealer:

The Bavsound Stage 1 upgrade for the M2 is priced at $1,150 including installation and includes the upgrade of the centre channel dash speaker, front door speakers and rear speakers. My recommendation would be to go with the Stage 2 option which includes the complete Stage 1 speaker package and the upgraded Bavsound Ghost Subwoofers. The subwoofer upgrade will give you that perfect balance of improved sound clarity with impressive bass and has been very popular so far on a number of M2’s we have done. The Stage 2 package is worth $1,950 including installation.

Shouldn't the centre dash simply be disconnected? I'm happy to upgrade that speaker too if it doesn't smear the soundstage as someone described it in another thread.
