Replacement Brake pads

Hi guys, its time for me to replace my brake pads on my F30 335i m sport. Dont wanna use OEM pads again because of the excessive brake dust, is there a good aftermarket pad that doesnt produce as much brake dust? all input would be greatly appreciated. Im pretty sure i have the stock 335i brakes, cause the calipers are grey.

Thanks!

I use stop tech street pads, theyre great however if its super cold then then dont grab as hard until after a few miles of driving/breaking.

I ended up going with the posi quiet pads. They were close to OEM and not as much brake dust.

Porterfield R4S. great stopping power and less dust than OE. Put mine on at 400 miles and never looked back.

I put the Post Quiet ceramic pads on my 2014 335i. Dramatically less brake dust. I have to push the brake pedal a bit more than with OEM pads, but overall it's well worth the change to me. I'm very happy.

Thanks for your input. I head the brake dust is much less. Which is glad to hear. Did you change pads and rotors? I'm just doing pads.

Just pads. At 35,000 miles my rotors had plenty of life still left. No need to change them according to my installer. My pads still had some life too, but far less than the rotors. Mostly I just couldn't stand the dust anymore. I was getting new tires and so I just went for new pads at the same time. The new pads have dramatically less dust. I"m talking at least 80% less. I've driven for 2 weeks now since my last wash and they still look great. They didn't need cleaning, but I took a damp cloth and cleaned them off anyway and they look spotless again. With the OEM pads the dust was stickier and much harder to remove. So, not only is there far less dust, but what dust there is is much easier to remove.

Are you getting semi-metallic or ceramic?

To my knowledge I believe they're semi metallic. Does that change much?

Not really. I think the semi-metallics do dust somewhat more but my understanding is that they also brake better. Maybe the best of all worlds. I don't know. I'll be curious to see what you think. The ceramics are the least dust for sure, but you do take a hit on braking performance.

I did not wait 15,000 km to change the pads of my M sport brakes. Good touch, good braking, but a lot of dust.
I have replayed with EBC Redstuff Ceramic I already used in my previous E92. The same quality of braking, does not brake better (nor worse) but the touch is less "spongy".
And the main difference, half of dust!!!

Just checked my order, they're semi metallic. I'll give you a review once they're on

Good. I continue to really like my pads. Had to brake hard today for some bonehead who veered halfway into my lane, and the pads performed really well.
