Transmission jumpy after intake
I have a 14 335i m sport sport auto and the car is FBO. When I install the injen intake on the car the car shifts hard and is kinda jumpy. When I install the factory intake no issues. Does anyone know how to fix this? I was going to sell the intake but don't want to until I understand what's going on.

Nope. I had my mechanic looking at boost leaks and JB4 settings and I was getting super pissed the car ran like crap. Then he sends me a message "hey try unplugging the MAF sensor". I did and it solved all my issues. You'll get the error code on the JB4 but no CELs. I've had it unplugged for about 2 months now, no issues at all.

Even with th car fully warmed up and fluids are perfect just got down at the dealer. Still would shift hard and be jumpy. Since unplugging the map sensor no issues tho

Didn't realize we could run off of the MAP alone (speed density), so looked into it a little more and ran across this thread:
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35580 Terry from BMS and Peter from PURE/PTF say it's okay and don't think they would steer us astray. Sounds like if you are running a jb4 and aftermarket intake then un-plugging the MAF is the way to go for a smoother running car at low throttle/idle. |
