Coffee snob anyone??
So I am loving my Sage coffee machine I purchased around 6 months ago http://www.johnlewis.com/sage-by-hes...steel/p2267464. Now freshly grinding coffee and the espresso/flat white this thing produces is fantastic. Stuff the shite from Starbucks/Costa etc.
I am now buying coffee beans from Union Roasted, Revelation blend here https://www.unionroasted.com/revelation.html. Just wondering if there are any other coffee snobs on here and what blend you recommend trying?

Would replace with a cheaper machine if I could be bothered! Sadly, it's becoming an impressive ornament!!!! |

I used to have beans sent over from Castroni in Rome. I think they have since gone bust. Sometimes someone would offer to carry a couple of kilos of beans back from Rome for me. That all stopped after one person was subjected to a very thorough (!) search at customs. It turns out that people smuggling cocaine often use coffee to disguise it from the drugs dogs! I then discovered Sainsbury's Espresso beans, which are remarkably good, and don't involve any cavity searches |

Actually it is a bit of a pain in the arse. If you don't flush enough water through it, then it scalds the coffee. If you flush enough water through it then don't let the temp rebound enough, then it under-extracts. I get it right some of the time, but some of the cups can be disappointing. The E45 group head is fine in theory but technically difficult to pull the perfect shot.

Miele fanboy here. Cost a bloody fortune and as mentioned above take a fair bit of cleaning and maintenance but it looks the dogs! Tried different blends of roast beans but cant really tell the difference so keen to see what's recommended.
Still use the Nespresso from time to time and that's decent + you can actually taste the difference between intensities and flavours. |

Coffee is not really my thing, but we bought a DeLonghi Model and use either Taylors or Costa Ground Coffee.
Tastes quite Authentic when compared to the Coffee Shops.

Jura ena is the way to go. Half way house between grief and convenience. Go for the ena 9 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jura-One-To.../dp/B00FS7XSO0
I have the 5, never missed a beat in 6 years, cleans and de-scales itself (internally anyway!). As for beans it's a tricky shout. If you really are going to get into it then you need to ensure that maximum time between roasting and grinding is 2 weeks. Otherwise just stay mainstream. |

Never have instant/freeze dried coffee in house. Hence friends consider me a coffee snob.
Another Aero press user. Have bought Union revolution, now buy beans for grinding from coffee roster in next village. |
