Reduced brake dust brake pads?!1

I had these on my E46 M3 and they were fantastic. Reduced brake dust by probably more than 70%. I was wondering if anyone has seen these yet for the E92.

I would say less on the E92, IMO, but maybe that's because I've been taking it easy during break-in.

Even under the break-in the dust was horrible. It was even harder to remove than the E46. And Mantis, I never felt any difference between stock and Axxis pads on the old E46.

I'm with GregW - I've had very little dust on my car. I'm at around 1700 miles now and even after a day at the track the front wheels are very clean. I've only washed the car once (before 120 miles on the track) so far and the front wheels look clean. Just to be clear my brake pad lifetime is now 60% of new on the Condition Based Service monitor, so the brakes have been working hard.

I put the Axxis Deluxe on my 08 535i w/Sport pckg and yes, brake dust was reduced dramatically, but performance definitely took a hit. I dont think I notice the brake dust on my E90 M3 because of the charcoal colored wheels.....

Zekhausen doesn't show Axxis ULTs for the E92 yet. You might contact them to see when they will be available, though.

Just wanted to bump my old thread to say that the pads I mentioned having on my E46 M3 are now available for E9* M3 applications. Just ordered a set from Zeckhausen Racing, same vendor I used a few years ago. If you want the pads that dust the least, you want to go for the Axxis Deluxe Advanced (in the blue box).

Please let us know how they perform in your M3; I'm between getting those pads or waiting for the Hawk HPS full set to be available (only the fronts are available now).

I totally forgot about this thread! I installed the Axxis Deluxe Advanced brake pads about five months ago, and the results are fantastic. The thickness of the brake dust has been reduced dramatically over a month's worth of daily driving, probably by about 50%. Instead of having to constantly wipe down the wheels, I now wash them once every two weeks. I definitely am neurotic when it comes to car care, so maybe I focus on these things more than other M drivers. Stopping power was reduced only slightly, but nothing severe enough to make me regret purchasing these pads. I would recommend these 100% to anyone who wants to retain the aesthetic quality of their wheels longer than the stock configuration could ever hope for.

Don't get HPS pads.
Here are my experience on HPS pads on 2 different cars.
350Z OEM Brembo brakes and E46M3 with ZCP brakes.
1. on the Z, it was same bite (stopping power) with 2/3 less dusts.

2. on E46M3 with ZCP brakes, it was a lot less bite- takes more effort to brake- it's not instant like we're all used to on BMW brakes although dust had been reduced 2/3.

Dont' get me wrong. It's great pads. But I'm sure we all remember when we drove BMW first time. BMW brake is very sensitive and very little effort to make car stop compare to rest of cars. You'll lose it with HPS.

Only pad (on BMW) that didn't lose instant stopping power and low dust (+ very easy to clean dust) was: Performance Friction Z-rated pads.

Those are one of the expensive pads (Actually there is a thread about the PF brake pads) but worth every penny in my experience.

I'm waiting on that to be released (suppose to be very soon).

My experience with the HPS was the opposite of isugoo in the M3. I used to have HPS pads in my 2007 MKV GTI and they completely fixed the squishy brake pedal in the GTI with a firm and right-now feel. They were low dust as well... they were really excellent pads.

I think that I'm going to try again the HPS pads for the front and then the Axxis Deluxe in the rear in my M3 just because I would like to continue autocrossing and ceramic pads all around is not going to cut it for those occasions. Some braided lines will be good also...

Finally installed HPS front and EDC Redstuff rear pads with a set of ECSTuning SS lines... the dust is gone and the braking feeling is slightly better than with the OEM pads. Stops are right now, no mushiness, no hesitation, no noise...

Unfortunately, you're going to either eat up your pads (soft pads=more dust) or your rotors (hard pads=less dust but more rotor wear). Similarly, you can either use your transmission or brakes to slow down the car. I rather deal with dust and pads, than rotors and transmissions, but that's just me. Good day.
