Can I add Bluetooth? 11/2010 With 6FL/6VC

I've been searching for days and I can't single out an answer to what my car is capable of doing when it comes to Bluetooth. It's a 11/2010 build E92 328i with 688 HK Audio, 6FL, and 6VC Combox.

The phone button on the car right of the radio doesn't activate a menu and I get no phone Icon selection on the radio menu.

Do I need another box in the trunk along with a microphone and antenna or is this simply a coding issue?

Lastly. Is there any way to have factory Bluetooth Audio without iDrive?

The answer I have most often heard is you have to have the idrive
to get streaming bluetooth to work with the combox.
Streaming bluetooth audio is a combox function but you need
the idrive to make it work is what I have read here.
There are aftermarket solutions which have entire threads
devoted to them devices like the wma3000 and many others.

With my car (2010 LCI) before I retrofitted the built in usb and bluetooth headunit, it had a pro head unit in it that had Bluetooth for calling etc which worked well but obviously no music streaming.

The options on my vin indicated that 644 was the option for the hands free Bluetooth calling function.

in my old 1 series I used a kinivo that allows you to stream Bluetooth via the aux and skip songs etc and answer calls.
