318d and 320d engines

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two engines? I did some searching on the internet but except a couple of posts that claim the only difference is the software I couldn't find anything concrete. Yet, to me, it feels like it should be more than just software, possibly different materials in the engine or the 320d turbo is using higher pressure. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

you know that 320d is more powerfull than 318d and 320d will have bigger Nm than 318d so you can go to the conclusion that 320d is better than 318d
