Technic Harness? Upgrade options to hifi system?
If I use Technic's harness to upgrade my hifi system do I just plug the existing wiring into the harness and use the harness to attach an aftermarket amplifier? Thus not cutting or splicing any wires?
Once this aftermarket amp is connected to the harness and installed can I upgrade my existing OEM speakers? I have seen Technic recommend a JL Audio amp in the past. If I want to replace all the OEM speakers and add a sub in the trunk what type of amp would I be looking at? 6 Channel? 8 Channel? Currently in my e90 325i I have an Alpine Power Pack amp powering 4 Alpine 410 speakers. I also have another Alpine amp powering a Digital Designs sub in the trunk. I'd like to reuse the DD sub in my new 335i. I'm really trying to understand what my best options are to upgrade my the hifi system in my new f30 335i. I know there are drop in options but just not sure what my best bet is. Any help is appreciated. |

So you are talking about the F30 right?
And it has the Hi Fi system to ? From what I have read the Hi Fi in a F30 has a center speaker/channel. Are you happy with the e90 with coaxes. Do you want more sound quality ? How much do you want to spend? Bimmertech Helix 82 dsp is currently popular 8 don't know how they wire in the center . You would need the xd 800/8 if you want to keep the center channel. You may want to get the Technic harness that bypasses the phony motor sound. Best to talk to Technic at his website to hammer out details if you go with his harness. You could loose the center channel . Last edited by ctuna; 12-03-2016 at 09:34 PM.. |

Not sure about the center channel. I've read that several people disconnect it altogether. Am I on the right track assuming I can use the Technic harness to basically replace the OEM amp without cutting or splicing wires? Once OEM amp replaced I can use the new amp to upgrade all speakers and reuse my DD subwoofer?
Hoping Technic chimes in. |

Technic no longer is a member of this site.
Go to https://technicpnp.com/ look up your car . Yes you can avoid cutting your harness with his stuff. |
