Buying advice: e92 335D M Sport Auto
Hi all, I'm looking at buying a 335d auto as an upgrade from my 330. I've not got any experience with the 335 set up and twin turbo performance. What sort of things should I be looking out for?
I can think of the following - Glow plugs and controller - Waste gate rattle - Turbo maintenance - swirl flaps - leaks to boost pipes, vacuum hoses etc - oil leaks Are they all applicable to the 335? Anything major I missed? My budget is relatively low so likely to be a motor with up to 100k on the clock, 2008 or newer model preferred

Dpf usually lasts about 100k miles.
EGR and main thermostats - these can fail which will stop coolant temp getting to late 80s Autogearbox - you'll want to flush every 50-70k miles. BMW say lifetime but its not. ZF say 60k i think. Remember to replace oil breather, many don't 335d is a great choice. A lot of power and can also return healthy mpg. |
