can you distinguish the model of the e90 (non-sport) from the exterior alone if it debadged ? i know the diesels have different exhausts but is that it ?

So would a say 320i or 320d look any different , to this one, from the front ?

If not should BMW do like MB, where the higher the model in the range the more aggressive styling it has ...

I don't know about other markets, but for South africa you can distinguish 4-cylinder E90's(320i, 320d) and 6 cylinder E90's(323i, 325i, 330i, 330d) as follows:
1. The 320d has an exhaust with the tip facing down.
2. The 320d and 320i have black kidney grills. Only the surround is chrome.... on 6 cylinder E90's, the kidney grills are chrome, including surrounds.
3. The 320d and 320i do not have the chrome surrounds on side windows.... on 6 cylinder E90's, there is a chrome strip surrounding the side windows.
4. The 320i and 320d have single exhaust pipe... while the 6 cylinder E90's have two.

So,
1. From the front, check the kidney grills.
2. From the side, check the window surrounds.
3. From the back, check the exhaust pipes.

Also, the 6cyl cars have a bigger "screen" inbetween the speedo and the rev counter :-)

hmmm... just checked the catalogue here in bulgaria , and they all have the same front grill .. .have i been tricked

In the US we get only the e90 325i (black grille) and 330i (chrome grille) so far.

In Finland we have chrome in 325 and 330 front grille.

325 does not have chrome exhaust tips.
