Creating mp3 discs (video)
There's been several threads about members having problems creating & using mp3 CDs & DVDs, so I thought I'd make a video to show how I rip, burn & play mp3 discs in my CIP20 updated & mp3 retro-fitted UK e90 330iSE with SatNavPro & CD-changer.
I use Winamp 5.1 to rip tracks and Nero to burn them onto CDs (-R & -RW) & DVDs (+/-R & -RW) Click here for the video. (right-click-save-as) (WMV 640x480, 24.6Mb 10:26) Hope you enjoy it. If you like it, there's more videos I've produced here. Viv |

Over on the M5 board, I found this very complete guide to creating MP3s for our cars: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=63253.
I already used EAC/LAME which isn't for the faint of heart, though it produces astonishing sounding MP3s, especially if you trade a little size for quality (I rip at 256kpbs VBR). But the real news here is MP3BR. I tried it and it produced PERFECT tags in the iDrive display on my May 2005 production retrofitted 330i. But -- and this is a big but -- I couldn't get MP3BR to automatically sort songs into album order. If anyone else tries this program and knows how to do that, I'd love to hear how. Anyway, so far, this program produces the best tags I've seen in the E90. |

the navigation slot reads mp3 dvd's so you would be out of luck with no I-DRIVE.
