Self levelling beams going crazy

So this has been happening this past week, the levelling beam on startup are meant to move up and down in sync, but mine are doing it in separate directions.

Every time I switch on the car I have a different beam pattern, most of the time it is causing much annoyance to oncoming drivers.

Really no idea what the problem Could be, as I've said this has only started happening this past week.

I have came up with a theory which may be right or wrong. I understand there is some sort of levelling sensor thing on the rear axel which sends signals to the headlights to adjust the beams, the sensor may be banjaxed and in turn is sending confusing signals to the headlights causing them to do this.

I have contacted a BMW specialist and will be leaving the car with them to see if they can find the root of the problem.

If you originally had Halogens fitted then I doubt there will be no sensor on the axle. You should have a roller on the dash for level adjustment. Xenon and LED lights come with self levelling.

Have you changed your lights or had a poke about? Could you have reversed the polarity of the connection on one side with any mods?

They are halogen headlights, I have fitted HIDS but they were fitted 2 months ago and give me no issues since then at all
