M235i vs M2 exhaust sound

Is the mapping of the overrun different between the M235i and M2 hence the different sound. I heard and M235i with the OEM M2 exhaust but still no where near the sound of the M2. Is it the DCT vs the ZF tranny? Any suggestions on how to get that m2 sound, besides upgrading to a M2 haha?

To be honest, after driving the M2 for an extended period of time, it did sound THAT much different than my M235i. I did notice on the upshifts (6spd) that it did sound a little more aggressive when you are getting on it.

But to answer your question - I believe there is different mapping from the M235i to the M2. Also keep in mind that the M2, although it maintains an N55, still has different internal parts from the F8x. This may also have an affect on how it sounds.

Higher compression too I think, no? That would cause the difference for sure.

You mean in person? The third video from OP shows 235 with m2 exhaust..

Yeah in person, videos have always been terrible for me. Misses so much of the sound.

Yeah in person is going to be the real deal... I cant say Ive heard the 235 with M2 exhaust in person but a know a guy that put the M2 exhaust on his 335i. Sounds very aggressive but thats an N54 so not the same.

A couple of members on here are in the Process of doing this MOD one has did the install the other will be doing it next week (Just shipped him the exhaust clamp he needs.) the other is in the process of making a video but here's the like to his install .
