What is that noise when I unlock my doors?

I've noticed some sound, sounds like servos or something when I first unlock my doors. Is it suspension settling, seats readjusting? What is it?

When you unlock, that sound that goes for a second or two should be your fuel pump priming

Oh man, it is a dream! I've wanted a bimmer since I was a kid... now that my kids are grown and gone, well yea, finally have some expendable cash

I got mine at Casey in Newport News. I had a choice of dealerships since I work up in DC, live in Gloucester. So Newport News, VA Beach, Richmond, and Alexandria were all in reach. Casey was the only one that had a 440i GC without the x-drive though (which I really did not want).

I'm planning on getting some pics and posting as soon as the weather breaks! You know how they say, "In VA, if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes", well, I'm getting tired of waiting

Of course, I can wait, as long as I can keep driving this ride

I feel you, i just moved to VA. My brother had the bimmer since he passed away last year it has been sitting in my garage time to get it back on road.

If you are standing on the passenger side of the car when you unlock the doors, you can hear the gas cover unlocking--it's louder than the door locks. I initially thought something was wrong with the rear passenger door lock.

Not that I've noticed, then again, when I'm unlocking the fuel cap door, the system has already been primed, I.e. I've just arrived at a gas station.

I hear it after the car has been sitting awhile, and I walk up and unlock it. Fuel pump priming the system makes sense. (Car is anticipating I'm going to start it or something?). Yay, for smart technology!

Yes, it does make noise. It's noticeably louder than the door locks, but it happens at the same time, so you might not realize.
