KW Street Comfort and Dinan Sway Bars Installed
This setup checks all the right boxes for me. The car is now actually very sporty, doesn't have excessive body roll, and the upgrade is subtle enough in appearance and comfortable enough to ride in that it is not readily apparent that I have anything aftermarket on my car to the neighbors and coworkers (and the wife... hopefully ) The only time it is very obvious to me that there is something different in a less than great way is how much more road texture and imperfections I can feel at parking lot speeds. At normal driving speeds it is just comfortable and taut. For what I use my car for, I cannot imagine going more aggressive, but the improvement from stock is incredible.

For reference, my stock height from ground to center of fender was 690 cm. I had the installer set the car to 665 cm. I was charged for 7 hours of labor; 1 for each coilover and 1.5 for each sway bar.
12mm front and 15mm rear BMS spacers will be going on along with a Stoptech front BBK within the next week or two. I am hoping the anodized BBK keeps the subtle-ish theme going... But lowering the car on stock wheels definitely makes spacers necessary in my view. Hopefully I do not run into any issues with the 245/40-18 MPSS' that will be going on when it warms up a little. |

They did have to drop the subframe. I am guessing everything took longer than I was charged and that they had multiple people doing the work to finish in one day.

Nice. I am installing this coilover kit come springtime, can't wait! Still debating adding sway bars I think I will see how things improve with the KWs first.

Do you get any creaking from the rear? I have the same setup on my 340i, although I did rear subframe bushings as well. Stock end links. I get a fair mount of creaking at low speeds from the rear. Still haven't gotten around to diagnosing it exactly. Some research suggested sway bar bushings or end links.
I love the setup too btw. |

No creaking at all on stock end links. I was going to do the subframe bushings at the same time as well but I passed at my shop's recommendation. Currently running the middle setting on the sways but may up the rear to reduce any understeer or add oversteer.

Too bad you installed the sways and coilovers on the same time. I was gonna ask how much of a different the sways make when cornering. I have Bilstein B14s and still deciding whether or not to get the sway bars. A shop quoted me for $900 for the install (front and rear).

Overall the whole setup corners so much better, but unfortunately I cannot separate the benefit of each part. I thought it was better to err on the conservative side so I went with the Dinan sways instead of the H&Rs. After making some additional setting adjustments I'll know better it it was a little more conservative than I was hoping. I had read from some others on here that had said the H&Rs were a bit too much for them.

BMS spacers installed. 12 front / 15 rear. It really fixed the wheels getting pulled under the fenders with the camber when it got lowered.

I do not know if it would rub with 15 mm in the front. 3mm difference seems like such a small difference, but really with 12 mm spacers I do not see a reason to go any wider. I am kind of nervous how the 245/40-18 summer tires will look and fit as is. I feel like wider spacers would be pushing my luck, but I really have nothing to base my concern off of though.

Thanks. Why did your shop say to pass on the bushings, if you don't mind me asking? I got the bimmerworld ones and they weren't a perfect fit, my shop had to call them and then grind them down a bit to get them to fit. Possible that's my issue.

They thought the cost and hassle was too high for the benefit. The head mechanic has Delrin subframe bushings on his car and thought there were better ways to upgrade with the $$$ on a relatively stock car.
