Our 2000 323it's CPO warranty expires next month and it's had three things break this
...week.
First a camshaft sensor went out and lit the SES light. We had it fixed on Friday and the SES light was back on Sunday. This time it was an ignition coil. DRIVING IT HOME FROM the dealership, I now notice a high pitched whine. Call the dealership. They said it sounds like a pulley is going out. It is very loud on cold mornings now. The warranty expires 3/20. I am kinda waiting til the last minute to bring it back in. Is this a sign of things to come? The car has 69,000 miles. I'd love to keep it for twice that. Anyone have experience with heavier-miled e46s? I don't think I can afford a matching e91.

I have 80k on my 99 323, brakes and front ball joints are all that I have had to fix. Seems solid for as long as it takes to wait for a 335si.

I have 110K on my 2000 323Ci and ...
it is the most reliable, problem free car I have ever owned!
Outside of factory recalls (thermostat, back up light switch) it has never used a quart of oil! Have only done BMW reccomended maintenance schedule. It has been so good I now have a second E46 2004 325iT. Now what will I buy next? E90 or E60? |
