Service Interval Indicator

I have a question about the service interval indicator. According to the owner's manual, the miles and the date to the next scheduled service is shown when the car is started. When I start my car, I get the picture of the car, the second line is blank, and the third line says 1/2006. My car has 3200 miles on it and was picked up at the end of December 2005. Why do I not see any miles on my service indicator and why does it say 1/2006 which has past? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is the date set correctly on your car?
