NO WAY IN HELL. The only way meat can remain that fresh looking 3 months past it's use by date is through the use of carbon monoxide treatment. Not sure if this is legal in the UK but is banned in many countries because meat can appear fine when it is actually off. Normal vacuum packaging will give meat a shelf life of approx 3 months MAX. As this is a cut piece of meat and gone through more handling then I would say 2 months MAX.
As said above, if frozen - no problem, but if it's been in your fridge the whole time then pass. FYI - I've spent 20 years in food/meat packaging. Just saying ;-) |

For £4.89 its not worth the risk. 3 months out of date ... chuck it away and buy a fresh piece.

Possibly we need a new category below 'off topic'

I'm not convinced it's mine, I tend to only eat steak when I'm out, I think the in laws may have left it when they looked after the kids, I'm tempted to give it a go.

Times have changed haven't they, I remember when £4.89 would get you a tram into town, 2 tickets for the picture house and fish and chips on the way home.
