Driver side clunk after alignment 2015 435i convertible F33
Any tips on what I should point the dealer to look at for this clunk?
All was fine. Took to dealer for routine service. Service advisor recommended alignment, and was done. Now, when turning right such as pulling from driveway onto street I have a clunk. Also when straddling uneven surface such as when left-front and right-rear are compressed, and right-front and left-rear extended. Upon reporting to dealer at next visit dealer says clunk is normal and no trouble found. Does not need to be a hard right turn. Slow speed only. Handles fine. No obvious odd tire wear. 19k miles Seems like it's coming from drivers "floor area" Again, any tips on pointing the dealer towards a common bushing failure or nuts commonly left loose at alignment would be appreciated. |

Have them check control arm to front subframe and subframe to chassis bolts. Anti roll bar links are also good places to check.

Second that. I just fixed an almost exact clunk I've had for months since I installed my coils by tightening my passenger side wishbone bolt. I would get this single popping/clunking noise when turning sometimes or when turning and going up a driveway or such.

I have this issue on my '12 328i. After posting and reading about similar issues and talking to BMW tech after eval I replaced my "front tension struts." Post install I still have this issue. I notice it generally shortly after starting a drive and the car is moving really slow, like pulling up to a stop.

Tension strut torque, I'm almost certain. I had an alignment then this issue, had it fixed, but they blamed it on my dinan sway bar install, but I had the alignment after the install, in fact, it was the last thing I did. I think BMW may owe me some money back. I need to find the F30/36 procedure for alignment to see if this is adjusted during the procedure.

Finally resolved
Dealer had shop foreman ride with me. Unable to produce on test drive. They tightened all suspension and frame to body points and problem is finally fixed.
